Good recipe here but no MARGARINE (YUK) use real butter, and no canned soups (broths) use Wylers chicken or beef bouillon cubes and melt the cubes in hot water then add to the soupy mixture after the roux has been stirred in because you might need to make up more roux if you like a thick soup.

Haven't had this in ages but my sister, Candy, used to make this all the time (of course we drank a few beers while she was making it, so it came our quite different each time but it was always delicious).  Sometimes she would put in ham rather than bacon, and she always added a can of kidney beans and a whole 5# bag of russet potatoes (they hold up better than red potatoes).

The one year I tried this it didn't work because the very night after I scattered the seeds in a small maybe 5x5 area of our backyard, it rained buckets and buckets and washed all the damned seeds into the next county I think.  I was so pissed off I just gave up for the year and worked only in the backyard greenhouse if I actually wanted to grow something.   The year before I tried the Chaos Garden I tried growing tomatoes in a big container in the front yard of our old house and the deer ate them right down to the soil.  I hope they poisoned themselves from the fertilizer granuales I had just placed around the base of the plants!

After I move in with my son and his family (before we get moved to FL) I may try chaos gardening in their yard and see what happens.  They have cats, dogs, snakes, etc, but we'll give it a go anyway!

Ooops! Forgot the link!

It sounds simple enough but be sure to check the weather forecast in your area before doing this.

The dimwit dems are working hard (and overtime if you can believe that!) to convince AMERICA that Elon Musk and DJT are FIGHTING with each other.  It's just one of the ways in which the dems are trying to sow discord into our culture.

They seem to be dragging negroes out of the woodwork to make it seem REALLY REALLY BAD!!!!!!  It's actually quite hilatious considering they have absolutely no message at all to go with their accusations.

Just look up anything on any website or tv channel like FOX and you'll get the REAL news about what's going on.

The USA really doesn't need China's crappy goods anyway.  GO TRUMP!  Make Chinese tariffs 100% if necessary.  People are sick of buying everything from China and then letting them fly balloons across the entire nation (mostly over military sites) NOT TO MENTION the fact that china is buying up American land (mostly our good Montana/SD/ND farmland.  We also have to put up with gang members they are sending over here to do the most vile things to humans.   Most American's wouldn't treat a DOG the way those people treat humans.

I say  just break off all dealings with China immediately.  WE DON'T NEED THEM.

The dimwit dems NEED these tariffs.  Trump has been a businessman for more than 50+ years and I think he knows what he's doing.  I trust him to make the right decisions for our country, Elon or no Elon.  Trump is a damned good negotiator and I trust him to do what's best for the USA.  I sure as hell trust HIM more than I trusted stupidass biden and his robotic assministration who made all of his decisions for him.  That's why we got fucked so bad and didn't even get to smile about it.

This article is from Eugyppius and is a good overall compliation.  Find it online.

"The entire world is melting down over Donald Trump’s tariffs, and as I don’t have powerfully insightful thoughts on this topic, I offer you an open thread instead. My planned piece for today – on the schoolmarm menace – can wait until tomorrow.Investors spent the weekend cultivating a panic over the impending trade war, such that stock markets opened sharply down this morning and continued mostly to crash as the day wore on. They did recover briefly in the United States, on the strength of fake news that Trump was on the verge of delaying his tariffs for 90 days – but the pessimism returned after the White House denied all such rumours. For the moment anyway, Trump is holding firm. As everybody knows, China responded to Trump’s Liberation Day campaign by retaliating with their own 34% tariffs on American imports. Trump has now responded with a threat to impose additional tariffs of 50% on Chinese imports, unless the Chinese withdraw their 34% tariffs, which they

I recently went to the Jones Road (women's make-up) site to look around at their products.  Thing is, I wanted to put some stuff in my cart and then decide what I wanted to actually purchase.  Well hey, once you put something in your cart, you CANNOT take it back out, there simply is not an option to do that.  So before all was said and done I ended up with an order total of over $290!!  Good Lord, I won't use that much make-up for the rest of my entire life.

Just a reminder to be very careful with some of these sites.  It "auto-filled" all of my other information (don't ask me how THAT works) but it knew my address and my debit card number, etc.

So now I will be the proud owner of a whole damned bunch of make-up I didn't even really order.  The maddening part is that you cannot back up and change any of the information or delete any of it.

If we got away from the current lame-ass education system, which really teaches kids nothing anymore and hasn't since the early 1970's, kids (and adults for that matter) would be far and away ahead of the game.  Even President Trump uses horrible English.  "To Not" is one of my biggest pet peeves and everyone says it, as well as "anywayS".  There is no such word as anyways but people have been using it that way for decades.

The correct way to use the English Language hasn't been in use for the past 4 generations and it shows.  I don't wish to talk down to anyone but "to not" is NOT proper English, no wonder foreigners have trouble learning our language.  It's disgraceful the way it's constantly used in the wrong fashion.

Good reading from Jon:

https://jonrappoport.substack.com/p/us-dept-of-education-doing-a-great-job-in-chicago?publication_id=806546&post_id=160057765&isFreemail=true&r=4vfy1&triedRedirect=true

Education has become a savings account for politicians who are on the dole.  It's no wonder they are trying so hard to hang onto it, although the dimwit dems are showing a complete lack of any background in the English Language at all right now.  All they know how to do is cuss and call people names.  A real "winning strategy".

GOOD.  I hope they keep doing that because they are not going to win friends and influence people THAT way.  How do people like Jasmine Crockett end up in CONgress anyway???????????  That's a subject I hope Jon looks into real soon.  If she can make it into the halls of CONgress, I should be a shoe-in  ... I'm 71 and have had a stroke but I'm far smarter than she will EVER be, and I don't call our leaders names (as a rule).

We in America have enough problems without worrying about where our cars are made.  I am thinking of buying a new vehicle and I REALLY REALLY want a jeep of some kind.  I used to have a Jeep Laredo for years and loved it and then one day my husband came home and told me he'd sold it.  Then he did the same thing to me when I had a little beautiful sparkly brown Mariner.  He was always doing that to me!  I had all of my CD's in my Mariner and they went right along with the vehicle I didn't even have time to go to the garage and get them out of the vehicle!  Both of those vehicles were very low mileage and he got good prices for them but I never knew if I was going to have a vehicle or not!  Not a great feeling.  Well, now that my DH is gone to heaven, I have to face the idea of purchasing a new vehicle for myself.  I love jeep's so I've already made that decision but now I am hung up on which model to buy.  I think a Wrangler.  I also need to find an insurance company who covers hail damage.  Not too many of them in this area do because it's such a common occurrence in this part of the country.  I could fork over an extra $100/month for a garage unit at the apartment complex where I now live but I'm not sure I want to do that.  There aren't even any electrical outlets inside the garage in order to plug the car in, and in the winter months we sometimes need to plug in cars so they will start the next day!  I don't worry about that so much now that I am retired but still, I hate planning to go somewhere and then you go get into the damned car and it won't start.  Arrrrgh.

Here's some info I found online about Jeeps:

The Perennial Question: Is Jeep American-made?

"According to FiatGroupWorld.com, Stellantis currently has 52 combined facilities (joint venture and self-owned) in 24 different countries. Of these, 12 facilities are involved in the production and export of various Jeep vehicles. While not all Jeep pr

If I knew how to get in touch with President Trump I would do it right now, today.

I am an elderly widowed woman trying to survive on social security and today I was going to place a food (and goods) order to be delivered from Walmart.  I usually never shop at walmart but they are the only ones who will deliver.  But - - I was forced to go back and change my order 3 times in order to stay within my budget, but I was only able to get less than 1/2 of the stuff I needed.  Trump keeps saying prices will go down BUT WHEN?  I'm not sure how much longer I can survive on this income and still have enough for food.  I was going to order some coffee this time but I ended up with those instant coffee crystals because I could not justify the coffee prices, along with a few other things that I really needed but had to forego.

If he's gonna do this I wish he'd make it a priority.

I know - - - bitch, bitch, bitch.  But it's hard to be old anyway and then with roadblocks like these it's twice as hard.  At least we can still get things but I'm not sure how much longer this will last either.  Walmart puts an extra $100 charge on my checking account until the debit card clears their system (which is something they SHOULD do before they even fill the order) so then it takes about 10 or 12 days for that to get cleared up so for 1/2 of a month I'm without that extra money to pay my bills, so then I get behind on my regular bills (which I still have to pay until my house sells). I was talking to my son this morning and he's been in touch with the realtor for my house and he told my son they've have a few showings in the past week but no bites yet.  It's in such a great location for people with kids because we are close to elementary, middle school and high school right in this area, which is one of the reasons we bought the house in the first place.  The other reason was the double garage which my husband fell in love with.  I didn't want to move out but my kids decided I s

Tallow is made from beef fat and is used more for frying foods (like chicken, potatoes, eggs, etc) and Lard is meant more for baking (like soft and tender pie crusts and billowy biscuits and cookies and cakes).

Both are (or were) available online as of yesterday.  Not terribly expensive either compared to the prices of butter right now.  Either of them can be MIXED with butter to produce a buttery flavor if that's what you're going for, too.

They are both good for you (despite what some "medical authorities" might say) but not enough people still use either of them anymore and our illness rates have risen grossly since they both fell out of favor.  We have GOT to bring them back.  I hope fast food places start using the tallow for making french fries again (it made a world of difference in the first McDonald's french fries I ever tasted back in the early 1970's and it's just too bad they ever switched over to that cheap shit soy oil, which is truly horrible for the human body.

This is really pretty good reading.  I'm not happy with what Trump did during his "talk" with Zelenskyy, but at least MAYBE they'll get this right.  I certainly hope this is NOT a program only for elites to take advantage of it.  Some of the comments in the "comment section" below the article are worth seeing in that regard.  Not everyone is a fan of some of the tactic's being used.  Nevertheless, we shall see, I guess.

Incidentally, someone tried to do a "voice over" of what Musk's little boy (X) was saying when he spoke to President Trump earlier this year during a meeting of some kind.  They had the kid telling Trump that Elon was going to be the President and run things and that Trump would be ousted (words to that effect).  Thank goodness they discovered it was a faked voice over, but that didn't stop MSDNC and CNN from pushing that narrative as if it were the absolute truth.

Even after watching the exchange endlessly yesterday (it was on EVERY CHANNEL ALL DAMNED DAY LONG) I still feel our side was wrong in how this was handled. Trump AND Vance need to take a step back and re-think their words and actions,  They acted like dictators and now they have lost a huge bargaining chip for America, I'm sorry they did that. THEY BLEW IT.  VANCE started it with his accusations of not meeting behind "closed doors" which is what Zelenskyy wanted from the get-go.  Trump and Vance both were on their high horses demanding things (respect, etc) they criticized how Zelenskyy was dressed (?) what did that have to do with anything?

Our two top leaders made buffoons of themselves, I'm sorry to say, that's how I feel.  If they truly wanted the details to be "closed door" then that's how they should have set it up.  Transparency also reveals the warts in these talks, not just the "heroics" of which I saw none.

Now, Zelenskyy doesn't speak English very well and he may have used words in the wrong manner or misunderstood some of the oval office words (we'll never know that for sure) but I truly do not blame him for being defiant.  HE HAS SOMETHING WE WANTED AND NOW DIDN'T GET BECAUSE TRUMP AND VANCE LOST THEIR COOL.  I am somewhat ashamed of our media lapdogs because none of them from the right carried the proper message.  They continually blamed Zelenskyy for all that went wrong, when in fact JD started it with his accusations.  Just go back and watch it and you'll see where the train went off the rails and had a wreck.

I'm sorry but this was a disaster and if the USA now doesn't get those "minerals"  guess who we have to blame?  Trump came off like some entitled, and someone who felt the deal was already in the bag and that he could say whatever he wanted.  I like that Trump is outspoken but this is out of bounds.  TOTALLY.

Incidently, JD Vance started the whole thing (along with Lindsay Graham), why was he even there?  Trump could hav

Also, Zelenskyy is actually just learning to speak English and I think he doesn't always use the words with the intention he means.  It's hard to express yourself when you are not speaking in your NATIVE LANGUAGE.

I truly do blame Trump and Vance for this oversight and they were no help at all.  It's really too bad Elon wasn't there, he might have been able to smooth things over because he seems to have a much less eruptive personality.
