Sakakawea, Lewis & Clark's only hope

WIthout her, the journey would have ended much differently I think.

Many historians and other know-it-alls continue to spell her name Sacajawea or Sacagawea.  Well, they can spell it their way and I'll spell it my way, which is exactly how I grew up seeing it on the statue just outside the town where I grew up along the Missouri River, about 100 miles straight south of present day Bismarck-Mandan, North Dakota.

So they can do what they want and I'll do things my own way.

There is also a statue/bust of Sitting Bull at that same site, up on a hilltop overlooking the bridge crossing the Missouri River.

This is short and of course a pretty well "edited" version of her existence but it's worth seeing, and people can always do their own research to find out more if they wish.
