Since when is there an amount MORE than 100%?

I thought, and was always taught, that 100% meant 100%.  And I was taught that 100% meant ALL of something.

Now the news folks are throwing around terms like 200% 250% 300% - - - it's just craziness.

And we wonder why the younger generation is confused and why numbers mean nothing to them.

They don't understand what a thousand is, they don't understand what a million is, they don't understand what a billion is, and now they don't understand what a trillion is.   To that generation those numbers are JUST numbers, they don't mean anything because that's what our gubmint has taught them and TOLD them.

We need to straighten this out and soon.  The younger generation doesn't have the first clue what a mess this country is in.  It's really too bad they can't ask George Washington.
