Hamburger & colorful peppers on rice

I use brown rice but the recipe gives you other options.

I'm not sure about the jalapeno peppers but the rest sounds really good.  The soy sauce sounds like a great addition, or even try Worchestershire sauce.  Also, I might just mix the whole thing together rather than putting the sauce on top of the rice - - but it's whatever you want.

Got this today from Great Grub:

Hamburger, colorful peppers & rice hotdish

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp pepper
  •  rice

Instructions:
[list=1]
  • In a large pan, melt butter.
  • Add onion, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and jalapeno and cook for 5 minutes. Add ground beef.
  • Cook until ground beef is fully cooked and vegetables are tender.
  • Drain and return to pan.
  • Add soy sauce and seasonings. Mix until well combined.
  • Serve with cooked rice

  • ****  I buy the bags of frozen, already mixed and cut chunks of red and green peppers with onions.  Usually I buy them at the organic store but sometimes in the regular grocery store.
