Facing food shortages - and then dumping milk etc.

The rising grocery and meat prices are not helping matters one bit.  But don't think for a minute the producers don't know that and could readily "fix the problem if they'd buck up and find their courage to reopen their businesses.  China isn't afraid to continue to send meat over here (and the US doesn't seem to mind getting it, imagine that) because Smithfield foods (both in the USA and in China) is owned by China.  The sellout/buyout took place a few years ago.

Check out some other facts in this article.

America's food system is cracking.

** As an aside, here's an explanation that escapes most people and it certainly escapes much of the media.  Those people did not grow up on or even NEAR a farm or a ranch, and thus have no clue about the fact that there is a difference.

FARM = planted crops, grown and harvested for both people and animals

RANCH = raising animals (cattle, horses, sheep, etc), few ranches also serve as farms because there just isn't time.  Ranches also include the dairy industry because of the cattle involved, but many large dairy "farms" also do some farming so they can feed their own cattle during winter months (depending, of course, on location).  Most grass-fed cattle survive longer, produce more milk, and few of those cattle are vaccinated with poisonous crap that seeps into the milk supply, which happens ALL THE TIME with non-organic milk and milk produced products like cheese, sour cream, whole cream, etc.
