Doesn't this sound amazingly good?  We are having some friends over for a weekend meal, so we're going to try this as soon as I can grab the champagne.  We always have Guinness stout in the house - - it's my favorite.  We don't drin much, but when we do it's usually beer (except around the holidays) and then it's either Guinness or Hefeweizen.
