The media plays a huge role in the dumbing down game.

The problem is, the media is dumb!  Beyond dumb, to boot !!  They just say whatever they're told to say by their handlers, much like the mass medicine market just DOES whatever they're told to do by THEIR handlers.  It's like a neverending game of mumblety-peg.
