These sound yummy, but who wants to start the oven in the summer heat?   I would just buy some chocolate cookies this time of year and call it good.  But in the winter I would definitely make the cookies but not with a boxed cake mix - - ewwwww.  No way.  Make a homemade chocolate cookie of some kind, and switch up the flavors of chips (when my sons were little they loved the peanut butter flavored chips - - Dad and I loved the butterscotch -- must be an old people thing!
