Does anyone know why I would completely and utterly lose my sense of taste and smell?  About 3 or 4 days before Christmas I suddenly was unable to smell or taste anything at all.  I do have a slight cold but it's not the type of cold that would precipitate this malady.

Anyone have suggestions as to what might cause this or what I could do about it, because I have no intention of "taking something Rx" unless it's a last resort.
