When I participated in cattle drives as a young teenager with my family, I preferred the baked beans to any casserole my Mom might have brought to us, but she didn't. She knew no one would eat it anyway, so it was baked beans and biscuits, sometimes a jello salad of some kind but the most important thing she brought us was lemon lime water and raw milk to drink. Man that was thirsty work and swallowing handfuls of dust didn't help. Even with a bandana across our noses and mouths it was impossible not to breathe in the fine dust that cattle stir up when they're on the move.
But I'm gonna post this recipe anyway, someone might like it.
