Oh my gosh I've gotta make this TODAY.  The best canned pumpkin to use, if you can still find it, is the Festal Golden Pumpkin.  That's the stuff I use to make pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and sometimes for Christmas (although I usually make nut filled brownies for Christmas).
