These sound delicious and I'm going to make them the first chance I get.  We always get a couple of large bags of carrots from a friend who can grow them, since I can't seem to do it!  I can't grow anything underground, for some reason.  No beets, no carrots, no potatoes  . . .  they just don't grow.  They get nice green sprouty tops and underneath the soil there's just nuthin'.  It's a puzzlement, for sure.
