May Day baskets?

We used to make our baskets in school with colored construction paper and a a scissors, a stapler, Elmer's Glue or scotch tape.. AND CRAYOLAS.  Colored construction paper was pretty new when I was in grade school, so it was fun to work with.  I have very fond memories of a holiday barely anyone celebrates anymore.  I wonder why it fell out of popularity?

We had so much fun making these baskets and also we knew it was getting close to being the end of the school year so we could start looking forward to the annual school picnic at Lake Hiddenwood.  Always had such fun at those picnics and the food from those old German cooks was to die for.  Back in my day kids were chubby if not downright fat in grade school, which is altogether NORMAL.  My grandkids are so skinny if they turn sideways you can find them.

Is there ANYTHING TODAY that kids aren't allergic to???  It's too bad they're not allergic to crime.
