I love apple stuff in the fall.  I also love pears - - and i like to mix them together like when i make my Mom's recipe for raw apple cake - - a couple of well chopped pears added to the batter gives a beautiful fall flavor and extra moisture.  Always cool cakes and breads mostly covered up, or all the moisture escapes and they dry out faster.  I also love fried apples and onions together. YUM!
