Weather: The Dog Days

Read about why it's called "The Dog Days of Summer".  Interesting.

One thing to be thankful for - - today, August 11, is the last day of the dog days, thank God and greyhound.

It's been scorching hot where I live, and smoky to boot.

I'm totally looking forward to autumn, not just because it's my favorite time of year, but because maybe we'll be rid of some of the smoke and heat SOON.

And remember to look up.

Haven't been able to see much except smoky skies for a couple of months in my area of the country, but I sure am looking forward to that changing soon.

Think August is boring?

Not me.  Not for the reasons in the article above, but also because my family has a TON of birthdays in August, starting on August 1st and the last one is on August 30.  The 31st is the ONLY day of the month, practically, when we don't have an August birthday.  I go broke buying cards!!!!
