TV is a screwover, when it should be a do-over

Can someone tell me why, all of a sudden in the last year, whenever there's not a drug ad, there's endless ads for Medicare??????

If people are old enough to qualify for Medicare, believe me, they know it and they know all about it's rip offs and benefits (such as they are);  why does our COUNTRY feel it needs to constantly drill this information into people's heads?  On one hand they're telling us that Medicare is going broke, along with social security and hundreds of other "gubmint" programs, and on the other hand they're encouraging people to continually sign up for more and more freebies.

It doesn't make sense.

Can someone explain this phenomenon to me, please???
