Uh, no. This is certainly not the last wild herd in America. There is a fairly large herd located in Custer State Park is SW South Dakota, there is a herd in Missouri somewhere, there is another herd in WY besides the herd in Yellowstone. Whoever made this vid is in la la land.
But it's gorgeous, nonetheless. Everyone should see a herd at some point in their lifetime. We go to the round-up every year, and up until last year I rode my horse and helped with the actual round-up before the drive, every year. It's become a big event in SD now, with a chili cook-off, and vendors are set up to sell home-canned goods (like fruits and beets and stuff), there are booths for ladies selling homemade quilts and let me tell you some of the Indian quilts are just gorgeous, there's jewelry (handmade, of course), and there usually several food vendors. It's a great way to spend an early fall day!
The buffalo (bison) are not usually bothered by the noises of mankind, but they will become agitated so it's best not to push the envelope.

This is a don't miss 5 min vid.
There are lots of burros in Custer State Park, as well as buffalo.
And this one is about 7 min.
