Good ideas but I would also add a collapsible water container (they are sold by MyPatriotSupply and a few other places) because water is essential. Don't buy water in plastic bottles (like Dansani or whatever that is) because never drink water that is stored in plastic for what could possibly be years at a time - - and you have no REAL idea where that water is from or when it was actually bottled. Sometimes pallets of those water bottles are on/in hot trucks for days being trucked all over hell and back, which is never good for plastics. We need to get rid of plastics and go back to real glass storage or some type of cast iron storage. Also ceramic is great for water storage but you have to line it with a layer of saran wrap or Reynolds wrap or something because ceramic, unless it's glazed and fired will absorb the water. Ceramic crocks are often used for things like making KimChe or sauerkraut. You can find something decent and safe if you LOOK. It takes some effort but it's important, now more than ever with the stupid gubmint we've got working against us right now.
Personally, I like storage of lentils and dried peas and stuff, but I have a hard time with beans. THEY NEVER GET SOFT. I can soak them for DAYS and they don't get soft I have no clue what the hell I'm doing wrong.
Anyone wanna comment on that?
