My best friend all during Jr. High out in California was so black that if she wasn't smiling or didn't have her eyes open at night you couldn't even find her!  We had NO problem talking about the differences between black people and white people and neither of us felt guilty about being the color we were.  We had level heads back then and politicians were not USING us, that's the difference!
