When I was growing up, 7 feet of snow was really nothing much.  It was just fun!!  We built snow castles and we built block igloo's and skated on the ponds after brooming off the snow, we (as older kids) snowshoed because we learned that from our grandparents who were of Scandinavian descent.  Now if we were talking 12 feet of snow, that was an EVENT.

Today's kids have simply no idea.  NONE.  And most of the adults under 60 don't either.  What a damned shame.
