I have had this recipe for ages because I think I discovered it shortly after it was posted.  These are absolutely delicious and so simple it's astonishing.  ANYONE can find the time to make these, it's just a matter of having the ingredients you need or want to use on hand.
 
I detest videos but that's how the material was presented and it's only 5 minutes long, so I wrote down the main ingredients as she talked and now I just share the video with first-timers!

I also mess with the ingredients because medjool dates are not one of my favorite foods although in this recipe they aren't bad.  I have substituted dark baking raisins, golden raisins, etc., and it worked out fine.  I have also substituted other types of nuts or mixed things like pecans and walnuts together.  You can play with this recipe and make it work in many ways.  Using all raw ingredients truly makes it a superfood.
 
I make a couple batches at a time and keep them in "bars" I make up and put into containers in the fridge so they are then a grab-n-go snack, and sometimes a meal. You can also roll them into balls instead of making bars, if you wish.
