A REAL grinder sandwich is not made with lettuce, it's made with cabbage. The writer of this article seems to be actually using iceberg lettuce and talking here and there about cabbage, as well. It's really strangely written. Otherwise the recipe seems about right. I didn't soak my veggies in red wine vinegar, however, I just splashed a dash on top along with the ground black pepper *and salt if you need it. Depends on what kind of meat you use.

Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches are the best if you make them yourself. You can buy them but they're never as good as your own with the cheese of your own choice and the steak so thinly sliced you can almost see through it!
