I wouldn't count on Kevin McCarthy and/or especially not count on Mitch McCONnell to "assist republicans" too much in the coming years.  These two guys are well known for speaking out of both sides of their faces/mouths and never saying a solid word anyone can count on.  It's embarrassing to have them on our side, truly.
