It's just a bit past 5:00 p.m., here where I live, and I just looked outside at my thermometer - - it's 108 degrees. And that thermometer is in the shade!
Tomorrow is only supposed to be in the high 90's (which will seem sorta like a relief, if you can believe that) and then, for some odd reason, starting on Thursday the temps drop off into the mid to low 80's. Boy, will that be nice after 3 solid weeks of smoke from MT fires and heat that's enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk. There has been very little wind, so the smoke just stays thickly in the air, albeit it seems to be up higher into the atmosphere, which is a good thing.
In the morning there's fog, in the daytime there's this unbearable heat, and all day long there's smoke.
And people wonder why I prefer winter . . . ? No mystery there.
