Can walking barefoot heal your heart?

You decide.

I only WISH I could walk barefoot.  I can't even walk on carpeting barefoot.

Here's why:  when I was in high school, several of my friends and I went to our local spot along the Missouri River to fish, some of us decided to get a suntan.  I was laying on my stomach and fell asleep.  When I woke up about an hour later the bottoms of my feet were soooooo sunburned I could barely walk.  I'm scandinavian and therefore very fair/light skinned.  I put on suntan lotion (which at that time was not loaded with poisonous "protectors") but apparently that attracted the sun to my legs and thus burned my feet as well, even though I had not applied the cream to the bottoms of my feet.

Consequently, my feet are BEYOND tender.  But it always looked like fun to walk along the shores with no shoes.

Now we find out it's actually good for us.  Whoda thunk it?
