Basic Lard/Butter Sugar Cookies (not rolled)

Sugar cookie dough made with lard. Both of my gramma's made their cookies this way, although this is not their recipe. Delicious! Also, I like to use a mixture (about 1/2 and 1/2) of butter and home rendered lard, rather than pure lard. I do the same with pie crust because otherwise it's a little TOO lardy tasting for some folks. I usually only make pies and cookies like this for holidays and special occasions.

This recipe link has lots of other links with lardy recipes, too!

I would never mess around with a small recipe like this, though. I'd probably
double or even triple the recipe right from the get-go. I have no trouble getting rid of cookies around here.
