American life 1950's and prior

We were much happier and much, much, MUCH better off.

Then along came LBJ.  Now I know why my Dad hated the guy, even though back then my Dad and his Dad were democrats.  They are likely spinning in their graves to think of what's happened since.  My grampa died in 1964 and my Dad died in 1995, so he did see some of what was coming, but he'd never BELIEVE what's happening now.  He would, most definitely, get out his black bullwhip and start letting the ladies know who's boss.  He wasn't repressive to women, but if women back then had acted as empty-headed as they do now, he would have let them know about, and feel his disapproval.  I'm a woman, and I'm with him on that idea, especially when I see the women of Hollyweird acting as they do.  It's painful to watch them be so damned stupid.
