I thought I put this recipe up at this board over the summer, but if I did, I can't find it. The search feature on this forum is completely useless it seems.
Anyway, I'm making up a batch of these to use on Christmas day with our ham. We cannot do a "brown sugar" ham because we are having guests who have diabetes, so I'm having to change my original menu ideas around just a tad.
These are terrific with hamburger patties, but I think they will taste good with our hickory smoked Christmas ham, too. They are also great if chopped and placed on top of scrambled eggs or a scrambled egg breakfast burrito I've perfected in the past 10 years!
We are keeping the menu simple this year: Ham, mashed potatoes, green bean hotdish (a family favorite) and a dessert of some kind. Haven't really decided yet, but I have a couple in mind where I can substitute the sugar in the recipes with stevia. I use Sweetleaf powdered stevia because I HATE the liquid - too too too strong and thus hard to use.
