They give a "vanilla" frosting recipe that has no vanilla in it. Good grief. Add some vanilla or some almond flavoring to your powdered sugar frosting and this will be perfect. I'm not a big fan of pumpkin cakes or breads but this sounds delicious. I prefer pumpkin pies made from scratch, including using a REAL pumpkin for the filling like my Mom used to do.
Also, if you don't have cake flour, do a search here (probably here in the recipes section) for the easy inexpensive trick to making your own cake flour much cheaper than buying it (and probably better, too). The purchased cake flours sometimes have other questionable ingredients that humans don't need.
