Just because it was classified as a "hanging" doesn't mean it was suicide.  And certainly it doesn't mean self-inflicted hanging, either.

There's a lot to this story that we'll never know, but I can't think of a single soul who will really give a damn, as long as the bastard is dead and gone.  He was evil incarnate.

If he did this to himself, he did the whole world a favor.  If someone else did it, THEY did the world a favor. 

It's a win-win either way.  Good riddence to bad rubbish.
