Using a mason jar with your blender

I have a cuisinart blender and can only use small mouth mason jars, but it's a wonderful idea when you have more than one item to chop, such as nuts and whole spices. I have a cuisinart coffee/spice grinder but my blender works better for whole nutmeg. Those things are hard as rocks! Ditto for whole cardamom. I did some allspice berries once and ended up with a powder that was almost too fine though, so be careful of the setting you use. The smaller "berries" such as allspice might be better in a smaller grinder.

I woulda posted this sooner, but I thought everyone knew this trick. I mentioned it to someone a couple of weeks ago and they'd never heard of it before, so I thought I'd post it here. I kinda forgot about it until today when I was chopping walnuts and pecans to make toasted nuts with sea salt.
