It isn't JUST a lack of sleep . . .(includes a freebie!)

It's a combo of several different things and as we grow older they all seem to affect us.  Me, I have a terrible time staying asleep.  I don't have trouble falling asleep just staying asleep (but some of that could be because my upstairs "neighbors" are making noise all night long, pounding things on the floor ... I have NO idea what the hell that's all about but it sounds like they are putting furniture together).  This morning it was the maintenance men for the apartment buildings using lawn mowers and leaf blowers to make enough noise to raise the dead.  It's been 4 1/2 hours and they're still at it.

I tried Gov.Huckabee's (of Arkansas) advice on using some Dr's sleep formula that he touts on tv, but I ended up returning it because it simply did not work and I do NOT want to ask my doctor for some sort of sleeping pills.  I simply refuse to go there, I'd rather go without sleep.  I need to contact the gal who gives me massages and see about getting in to have a 1 1/2 hour full body massage.  I usually sleep like mad after that, sometimes for a whole week I have no trouble falling or staying asleep.  My DIL is a massage therapist but she's always too busy to help me.  Besides, since her mom got hurt pretty bad in a skiing accident she spends a lot of time giving her massages.  Oh well . . . I'm low on the totem pole!

This is a great article, full of good advice.  It's from Nick Polizzi (info at borrom of article):

It’s no secret that our bodies change throughout our lifetimes. From childhood, to adulthood, to middle age, and into our golden years, there are always new things to get used to.

But some changes can be a bit overwhelming… like the dreaded “energy slump.” If you’re in your 40s, 50s, or 60s and can’t seem to escape chronic symptoms of fatigue, low energy, brain fog, and restless nights, then you know what I’m talking about.

Chronic fatigue is not only physically exhausting, but emotionally draining too. Especially when you’ve made the conscious choices to eat right, nurture a healthy living environment, exercise, spend time outside, and take all the proper supplements. But still, no dice. The good news is you’re not alone. Nearly 60% of adults aged 40-59 report feeling fatigued at least 3 days a week. But until we address the root cause, we’ll continue this way.

Here’s a quote from a conversation with my functional MD that blew me away:“A lot of fatigue issues come from poor sleep… And oftentimes we don’t even know we have an issue.”

So what can we do to repair our sleep?  To help you heal this part of your life, my friend Stefan from Zonia wrote a great ebook called The 5-Step Stress-Releasing Sleep Routine.

If you suffer from sleep disorders, chronic fatigue, anxiety, or simply don’t have a solid bedtime ritual, then you won’t want to miss this free resource.
