TWC is awful at reporting the weather

I just do not understand why TWC cannot seem to get away from the weather on the east coast but cannot seem to realize that there is a middle part of our country that DOES NOT INCLUDE THE EAST COAST, nor does it help me to know what's going to happen where I live if they report on Kansas or Iowa.  Even what happens in Nebraska doesn't come close to having the same sort of weather as the Northern Great Plains at all.

That stupid channel simply will NOT report on South Dakota or North Dakota or Wyoming or Montana except 2 words here and there.  What they do not seem to realize is that whatever happens on the East Coast has likely already been through my area but heaven forbid they would mention the Northern Great Plains area.  We're just not popular enough I guess.  They are forgetting that Kristie Noem, John Thune, Dusty Johnson and Mike Rounds are all from this area.  Hell, TWC doesn't even mention our capital cities of Pierre and Bismarck.  It's disgusting.

Right now my area has about 3 inches on the ground with a layer of ice underneath the snow.  I live on top of a big hill and I wouldn't take the chance of trying to go up and down that steep, winding hill to go get something (food or whatever) if my life depended on it.  I am even afraid to walk on the snow and thus cannot take out my garbage.  So I am piling it up our on my deck for now until the weather warms up a bit (about mid-week according to NOAA).  But still, what am I supposed to do in the meantime?  I'm stuck here because the city does not come up and salt the streets here, I think even they are afraid to try to navigate that hill !!!

I have gotten so I use the online NOAA site for the weather in my area.  The weather channel is too busy promoting "CLIMATE CHANGE" and the fake "ILLNESS INDEX".  WHY do they bother with all that shit, it's all lies anyway.  I guess I thought the people who worked at TWC were smarter than that.  But, NO, I should have known better.

Re: TWC is awful at reporting the weather

Here's a much closer forecast of what my area can expect for the next 2 months.

Check out the Old Farmer's Almanac for YOUR area.  It's likely more accurate than anything you'll get from some tv network promoting shit like global warming, climate change (the fancy name trying to hide the same thing!!), and promoting a bunch of illnesses which aren't a problem anymore (covid has been proven to be a sham, in case TWC hasn't figured that out yet), and EVERY winter people deal with power outages (we've already had 2 this winter) and people also deal with RSV and colds.

Believe me, every time you're sick you are strengthening your immune system, as backwards as that sounds it's true.  I drink Elderberry tea and use Sambucol if I develop a cough or something, but I myself have not had the flu or anything like it since 2011.  And I got sick at that time from one of my daycare babies who I'm sure got sick from one of his siblings.  I was also coughing for a while after I was in the hospital with a stroke in early April of 2019.  After drinking my tea, adding honey to it and staying away from things like Robitussin and all that junk which often makes things worse instead of better, I was better in 2 days, no fever, no coughing, no aches and pains.  It's just common sense - THINK ABOUT THAT.

I also use A LOT of Vicks rubbed on my throat and chest whether I'm feeling shitty or not !!!  I love the smell of Vicks.  You should be using it, too.

Re: TWC is awful at reporting the weather

This is also a wonderful site for all kinds of information (you can click on those letters at the top of the page to check out each month).  As I said earlier, January and February are typically ALWAYS freezing cold in this area.  The interstate (I-90 in my area) is always open and taken care of for the truckers (are the truckers working again???) On the eastern side of the state we have I-35 (sorry, I guess it's I-29) which runs from South Sioux City all the way up into North Dakota by Grand Forks, Wahpeton (both ND), Sisseton (SD).  It's a long stretch I'm very familiar with because we used to travel that stretch a lot heading for Wahpeton to wrestling matches.

To see our 2 interstate highways:  https://www.maps-of-the-usa.com/maps/usa/south-dakota/highways-map-of-south-dakota-state-small.jpg

There is a nice photo of Rapid City from a mountain top at that first link, however the photo was taken facing east (to the flat, plains section) rather than to the west where you would see dense forests of the Black Hills.  But you can get the idea of how spread out the city really is and it's gotten much bigger in the past 3 years.  This also doesn't show the Ellsworth Air Force Base which is north of Rapid City on the OTHER side of I-90.

Here's some info on the Bismarck, ND, area (Doug Bergham's stomping ground) !

https://www.weather-atlas.com/en/north-dakota-usa/bismarck-weather-january

Interesting to navigate around this site for all the cities you're interested in.  A nice find!!
