It's not really swiss, that's just the name it was called but I don't remember why! My Mom used to make this a lot but she didn't have a slow cooker so it was done in the oven in a graniteware roaster.
One of my all time favorite meals. Mashed potatoes to help sop up the tomato "saucy stuff" and baked carrots or a green salad with it. YUM! Makes my mouth water to think of it. Now if only I had the energy to make it today! Maybe tomorrow.
I will try making it in my slow cooker, but it has to be pan-fried (browned) first anyway. That way it's not bloody tasting. NO ONE would like it that way, trust me.
