In my area we have already seen many of these signs, for instance the foggy afternoons and evenings, the rings around the moon, we have deer EVERYWHERE (mostly pooping in my driveway), there are hornets nests and spiderwebs in every corner of my home and we have woodpeckers galore (as usual) but this year they're pissed off because they can no longer peck at my siding because I put aluminum siding ii their favorite places to make holes! Little shits were RUINING my house but I think I've fooled them now.
It's a matter of getting rid of the hornets and the spiders now. I finally got rid of the snakes under my front deck with some stuff called Snake Away (from Menard's) it looks like pickling salt and is supposed to smell like peppermint but it smelled like PEE to me! Oh well, the snakes are gone for now and that's all I care about. So far, no mice in my garage yet this year (that's where they tend to hang out for some reason).
Does anyone know if cats or deer eat snakes??? WHAT DOES EAT SNAKES?? I'm not going to continue to use the Snake Away because it's $18 bucks for a 1 pound bag and it doesn't go far. I needed the guy to sprinkle it in my driveway, too, but he ran out of stuff before he got to that part. It's very hard for me to even walk to my PO box in the street with snakes everywhere. As far as I know they were only garter snakes and one that had a gray body and an aztec design on it's back (don't know what it was) but the guys who got rid of them for me said it was not a poisonous snake. Nevertheless, I do not want them popping out from under my deck whenever I go to the garage or the mailbox. Scares (startles) the shit outta me!
My neighbors have had bears (baby ones it appears) in their back yard for the past 3 autumn's, usually not until about September or early October. We've had bobcats and cougars on some of our major thoroughfares throughout the town for several years, many of them being hit by cars and trucks.
This place is getting wilder by the day and I cannot wait for hunting season to open up. The only thing I do not want them to shoot are the tame ducks and geese from Canyon Lake Park. They are not "eating birds" (food) they are there to help keep the bug population under control around the lake area. They do a good job, too.
