I found out the hard way that you really have to be careful of vineing plants of any kind if you plant them up next to your house. Plant them next to a fence instead, because when you plant a south facing vine, snakes are likely to make their home in there - - all year long. We have found snakes even in the snow, so you are never really rid of them, and now it's expensive and "ILLEGAL" (if you pay attention to that sort of crap) to use gasoline to pour on cement surfaces to kill off rodents and reptiles. Round Up is lethal but it's also lethal to people whereas gasoline is only lethal to people if they drink it . . .
