These are usually bank-busters for the phRMA companies, because even when they turn out to be duds, the propagandistic crap put out by the media is enough to make billions for the drug companies.  Whether you or anyone else ever gets sick or not, they make a ton of money through fear-mongering and that's what they do best.

Remember SARS, or Zika and about 50 other fake diseases and illnesses that didn't happen, at least not the way we were told it was going to happen?  Remember back in 1976 when everyone had to be "vaccinated" for Swine Flu? Scams, all scams. I'm glad they were scams but it's no wonder people are losing faith in the gatekeeps (CDC, FDA, USDA, yada yada yada).  They are out and out liars.
