Real Farm Wife is writing a book

My suggestion to her would be to get rid of that "smart" phone, stay off of all social networks, not worry about whether or not you have your phone with you when you go to the bathroom (for God's sake). Go back to at least using an old flip phone instead of worrying about being tracked by a smart phone but doing nothing proactive about it.

I can't stand it when people bitch about modern day stuff and yet they continue to use it.  That just doesn't make sense to me at all. Every web site I know of complains daily about fakebook, but they urge people to "like them on facebook".  Now what kind of sense does that make?

Also, this woman's children will grow up just like today's generation - thinking that "socialism" means being on social networks.  Truly, that's what most teenagers think socialism means.  It's starkly frightening.

Yes, I miss those "old days" just like she does, but even differently than she does because when I was growing up there were no "answering machines"!  If people wanted to talk to us they had to either find us or wait until we got home.  Our phone number was 2 longs and 2 shorts.  My grandparents phone number was 2 shorts and 1 long.

I was never a farm wife (I was a farm kid!) so I can't help her with her book.  But boy, could I tell her some stories . . . . . . .
