The Native Americans knew that beaver were a rich part of our environment looooooooooooooooong before the white people of the plains did. It took whites over 150 years to discover what the Indians knew all along. But heaven forbid we should believe anything they said. Indians lived within nature their whole lives and knew every animal and why each was important to the existence of mankind and to the existence of other animal and fish populations.
This is why I complain to anyone who will listen, that we (mankind of today) need to start looking backwards just a little bit if we're to survive during times of hardship. No one listens. We really need to take a few lessons from the past and apply them to today.
