Medical/iatrogenic mistakes affect 1 in 5 people

This is a superbly written article, very factual and important for anyone going into the hospital or one-day surgery, etc.  The most important point he makes, I think, is the part about being sure to have an advocate with you.  There are some things you can copy from this article that will make your life (as an advocate, not to mention as a patient) a lot easier.  I have Dr. Saul's original book and am thinking of ordering his second one, shown in this article.

My advice for anyone who is an advocate for an in-patient?  Be a complete and utter pest to the staff and they will focus on you and whomever it is you're looking after.   Be a PITA (pain in the ass).  Words of wisdom !
